Description

This is a handwritten copy of the Heart-Sutra in  Western Graffiti-Calligraphy script. This is as far as I know the first „Graffiti-Version“ of the Heart Sutra in German language...
Copying Sutras and other sacred texts of Lord Buddha, is a deep, rewarding and fulfilling Dharma-practice. The Heart Sutra (Skt. prajñāpāramitā hṛdaya; aka The Twenty-Five Verses on the Perfection of Wisdom — is the most popular sutra of the prajñaparamita collection and indeed of the mahayana as a whole.
This sutra contains a dialogue between Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion, and Shariputra, one of the closest disciples of Lord Buddha Shakyamuni. Lord Buddha Shakyamuni stays all through the conversation between his two very important followers in perfect samadhi concentration. Inspired by his blissful presence this dialogue happened at Vulture's Peak close to Rajagriha in central India. In the sutra also the mantra of the perfection of wisdom is contained. Its accent is like this: tadyatha om gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha (tadyathā oṃ gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā).
The great Atisha taught about this Mantra that all the wisdom of the Heart-Sutra is contained within this mantra.

The most famous quote of the whole Heart-Sutra goes like this:
Form is emptiness; emptiness also is form.
Emptiness is no other than form,
Form is no other than emptiness.
Śākyamuni, Heart Sūtra
The complete version of this copy of the famous piece of Buddhist sacred literature I did on DIN A4 dark blue paper with golden Edding ink marker.
